Pilot #4

Next Stop Brunkan

#nextstopbrunkan

Brunkeberg Square will be redesigned during 2017–18 to become a vital urban environment accessible to all. From having been viewed as an anonymous, practically ”dead” space, the square will blossom into a city center oasis.

Smart Kreativ Stad and Stockholm konst join in partnership to create a semipermanent space for moving pictures and sound in the city—a fixed place where diverse art projects can be displayed in a longer time frame. Such a space has a powerful intrinsic potential to become both an experimental node to open up the perspectives of the city and an invitation to a dialog concerning contemporary art in our communal space.

For Stage 1, the internationally acclaimed artist duo Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg have been engaged for Next Stop Brunkebergstorg.

With their characteristic animations and sound images, they conjure up fantastically new worlds, stretching our notions and stirring our emotions, by making themselves felt beyond boundaries.
